Painterly ways of working with spreadsheets

The collected data can be dragged into a more formal composition where the juxtaposition of links and images suggest new possibilities.

This approach can be used to explore hypermedia content in ways which suggest new meaning in advance of the capacity to adequately explicate what is of value. Direct juxtaposition of multiple video clips (using a webpage as a canvas for example) readily generates synergetic results, new ideas, which were not present in any single video clip. In advancing a theory of painterly methodology in hypermedia,

The canvas could become self-reifying. I found when I viewed my own studio painting practice, the video and multiple iterations of it, that my understanding of painting and myself as a painter was reshaped. Equally participants in a project can drop video material onto the hypermedia canvas fairly intuitively, but in doing so open up the possibility for entirely new reification of the collective sites and possibly the organisation. Importantly, no theory or words, other than those found in the video data need to be transacted; the canvas can do the talking.
